people on these forums in that unless the phone gets a case re-design and LTE it's only a minor update. Really? going to a dual core processor and 8mp camera is "just a spec bump?"
I agree with you. New CPU, memory, cameras, etc are enough of a bump. You don't need it completely redesigned it's only been a freaking year.
People are so demanding and entitled. They think they should have the iPhone 10 NOW.. like right now Apple! Get on that *****!:eek:

for a small sum of a $1billion usd, i volunteer to watch over the innocent children and their purchases. I will smack their little fingers with a a bamboo cane. Suddenly this reminds me of that south park episode where they started smacking "add" kids. "sit down and study." i think parents need to get caned then schooled into using parental controls

Yep, tried one out yesterday, local store had a demo unit. The build quality is pretty good, although it looks very plastic and childlike compared to the iPhone/iPod Touch/NGP that are much more 'adult'.
I couldn't see the 3D as expected (vision problems in one eye), but the other half wasn't overly impressed. The re-focusing needed to go from the bottom screen to the top is just tiring on the eyes, and you really do have to hold the 3DS at a specific angle to get the effect.
The augmented reality was pretty cool (even without 3D) though, but certainly not enough to sell me a console.

Wow, I came into this thread late. I wonder where the other 39% percent of the Silverado is from? I would guess more than one country. I know about the US Toyota plant, but Honda, too?
Anyway, I kind of like the Honda Fit and if that's helping American workers, then all the more power to them.
Honda has been building cars in Ohio at least since the early '90s. Had a '93 Civic built in East Liberty or Marysville... can't remember which. Sadly, the Fits (I actually own an '09) come from Japan.

Had that combo. I loved the air 11 but sorry, 3 hours of movie watching and it's ko'ed. I'm not watching a movie or reading my books on the iPhone either. Still unable to kill my pad's battery.

I think the iPhone 4 looks great without a case....but it drops calls without the damn bumper!

I have used a Moto Xoom. Honeycomb requires you learn a new user interface. Instead of a nice seamless experience where you can get right in to using apps, you have to learn about the literally 3 or 4 different ways to trigger, dismiss, and access apps. If they're utilities, they're accessed one way. If they're apps, you've got an app menu and a desktop-style metaphor to try-- either works. It's confusing as hell. I mean, you can LEARN anything, but why would you want to.
Bottom line-- a Xoom is $800, it's far less functional, and it's far more confusing to use.

First off Kodak doesn't even have to use its patents necessarily to sue, but clearly they have over the years since they've been making digital cameras and printers for quite some time. If you want to check each an every Kodak product for patent numbers, knock yourself out! :D

That initial ruling is being re-examined.
I still think Apple should just buy Kodak and start collecting the royalties from the other companies that have already made deals with Kodak, but it looks Apple's legal strategy is to drag this out until Kodak goes under.

Apple understands the marketing value of a popular term like Podcast, but there's a delicate balance between encouraging people to use it, and giving away your rights to it. I personally don't think Apple was out of line in this case.
But here you're implying that Apple has any rights at all to the word podcast, when it was clearly invented by someone else (Adam Curry, perhaps, though there is some debate; it was certainly not Apple Computer). How in the heck can they make a claim? It's not like they are called iPodcasts. That I could see being an infringement. Just how far are they intending to go with the word 'pod'?

And why update the laptop that is newer???
It's more likely that they switched all of their MacBook/Pro development over to Foxconn, most likely because of all the issues around the most recent line of MBPs.

This is VERY SIMPLE people! The person with the iTunes account simply needs to SIGN OUT BEFORE handing the device to the child!!
People in this country just don't want to take responsibility for their ignorance! And common sense seems to have gone away at the rapid pace of lawsuits over anything and everything over the last couple decades or so. ...maybe they did this on purpose because they thought they could sue Apple and get big $$$.

War is why we evolved so far past the next "animal".Bollocks. It is absolutely nothing to do with evolution. Opposed thumbs, brain size, bipedality, toolmaking and speech have had the most influence on our development. As to whether we have evolved past any other species, that, I would have thought, is very much up for debate.

I do some download in my app where some of the data are images. In my app I save this data and create uiimages object where needed. Everything works fine so far. My problem is:
I have a custom tableViewCell class and in this class I have a UIImageView defined. No matter which size I set to this Uiimageview, the image put into it gets the height of the tablecell. I have tried to change the viewMode for the cell uiimageview content but without any luck so far. What can I do to actually get the images to be displayed with the size of the uiimageview it is added into...?
The images is created like this:
NSFileManager *fileManager = [[NSFileManager alloc]init];
UIImage *imgToUse = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData:[fileManager contentsAtPath:[dict objectForKey:@"data_path"]]];
[fileManager release];
After this the images is saved into a dictionary and in the table delegate method - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)t cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {

We wouldn't use them for killing. Quite the contrary. As an Intelligence Analyst I can say that I would love to have a Mac based system for all of our mapping/communication/networking needs. We wouldn't even need a "tough book" like computer, since most of my work is done out of a tent or a building. A rubber casing or strip could easily seal the ports. I have been wanting to incorporate my MBP into my work more and more.
+1 for mapping. When I worked at a Joint Reserve Intelligence Center (JRIC) the intel guys that deal with imagery (sorry I don't know the term) used Macs with 30 inch ACD's.

According to an unscientific process commonly referred to as "having an opinion", millions of pages worth of platform-war screed have clogged the internet for decades now with unnecessarily vehement brand loyalty. Where does all this bile come from? Particularly these days when the differences between computer brands are fewer than ever before, and cross-platform compatibility is higher than ever.
